Adam Sorensen

Adam Sorensen

Adam Sorensen enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in April 2005 from South Jordan, Utah and subsequently attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. In 2008, now Sergeant Sorensen reported for duty as a Team Reconnaissance Man for Force Recon Company, I MEF after many year of training and experience. In 2010, Adam deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan as a Force Recon Team Communicator where he was wounded conducting combat operations on October 26, 2010.

He is currently attending the University of Utah, where he is completing a commissioning program (Marine Enlisted to Commissioning Education Program) and studying Geography, Geospatial Intelligence, and Geographic Information Systems. He will receive his BS in Geography in 2016, and be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. He completed Officer Candidate School in May 2013 as the class honor graduate. Adam maintains a 4.0 in his studies at the University of Utah.

Adam also volunteers with the American Red Cross and coaches strength conditioning and Cross Fit and competed in the Junior Olympic National Championships 1999-2001. He was selected as the 2014-14 University of Utah Student Veteran of the Year by his peers. He was married to his wife Victoria in May 2011, and they currently reside in Salt Lake City Utah.
