Donald Edwards made the commitment to join the US Marine Corps, as a combat engineer, at the young age of 18. Stationed at Camp Hansen in Okinawa, Donald was assigned on to be a Bulk Fueler. A Bulk Fueler's job is to set up large fuel farms which is anywhere between 200,000 to a couple million gallons of fuel into "giant bladders which are all connected with pumps and hoses." Being in the military, Donald was pushed far out of his comfort zone. He learned what being a Marine was all about. He realized that no matter how hard his circumstances may be, he was capable of continuing forward and getting the job – any job - done.
His progressive attitude continues as he is now studying Strategic Communications here at the U. He plans to use his degree to fulfill his dream as a future business owner and manager. Donald is currently working at the downtown Squatters Brewery, which has given him experience to open his own coffee shop some day. He is excited to be a business owner because he loves meeting and getting to know people.
Donald enjoys spending time in the outdoors with is wife and two dogs. He also enjoys feeling the cool breeze of the cool summer air on his motorcycle.
There is no doubt that the military has shaped Donald into the successful man that he has today.
