The Communications and Marketing Manager works under minimal supervision to plan, organize, direct, control, and execute all aspects pertaining to strategic communications, public relations, marketing, and outreach functions for the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, as well as coordinate these efforts across Student Affairs’ departments. The person in this position will lead Student Affairs’ efforts to communicate more effectively internally to more than 1,000 full- and part-time employees, externally to students, as well as support VPSA initiatives to strengthen communication and messaging with partners across campus, in the community, and with university and state leaders.

The person in this position will utilize equity-minded practices that are expansive and inclusive of minoritized individuals. Additionally, this position will be responsible for performing various tasks related to writing, design, editorial planning, social media management, website management, media relations, outreach efforts, marketing strategy, and project management. This position requires strong leadership, writing, and interpersonal skills, and will work collaboratively with personnel within Student Affairs, as well as with communications and marketing professionals across the university. The position has direct supervision for 2-3 student positions.
